One of the most frequent complaints I've heard from career-seekers is that they apply to a job and don't hear back. Applying online is a long-term endeavor.
Hiring managers also state that candidates frequently don't follow-up.
If you're interested in a position, why wouldn't you "show
up"?
Be on time
Deliver what you said you'd deliver
Thank a connection for their time, a referral or work they've done for you.
"No shows" happen a lot during a career search in both
directions. It's disappointing and can affect your confidence when you are the one making the effort and the recruiter or hiring manager doesn't respond.
Keep up your professionalism, regardless.
Following-up is an opportunity for you to STAND
OUT over your competition.
