When asking for a connection, make sure you connect from within a profile and after you learn
something about your prospective connection that can be mentioned in your note. The 3 general components of an effective connection letter are to:
Make a statement about something you saw in their profile.
Tell them your specialty and offer to be a resource.
Ask: "Are you open for a connection?"
Your invite should be a short introduction with a focus on making the connection.
