A new client told me that he was
ready to make a change since he has lost 10 years in his career. He has been moving to the next job rather than planning his roadmap to advance. He kept accepting a Director's title with each move to a different company.
This is an example of the difference between a career strategy, a longer game, and the tactical pursuit of a "new job". For him, those 10 years represented lost opportunity to advance his career and compensation.
