There are many times when clients ask for help on writing compelling messages because they are not getting a response from key decision makers.
How do you get key executives with the power to help you to respond to your messages and open career doors?
TAP INTO YOUR NETWORK AND GET INTRODUCED
One of the benefits of having a big, strong network is that you increase your chances of getting introduced to powerful people. Who in your connections can make an introduction to the person you want to meet?
A COMPELLING MESSAGE
Know what you can offer before the conversation through research. Find an article where the person you want to speak with mentioned their company challenge. Provide a a solution based on your experience. Research through
Google, company website PR tab, company posts, and profile. Refer to that article and the challenge in your message to get their attention and peak their interest.
SOUND LIKE A LEADER
If you are presenting yourself as a leader, then you need to sound like a leader in your message. Confidence and authenticity are important here.
IMMEDIATELY ESTABLISH YOUR VALUE
Instead of talking about your needs, create unique value and how your value can create mutual benefits as a reason for an introduction. If you don't know your value or cannot articulate it, then use this worksheet so you can speak up for yourself and create interest in the impact you can make
HOW ARE YOUR WRITING SKILLS?
Leaders need good written communication skills. If this is a challenge for you, get some guidance or a second opinion on your message.
ASK FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME
Powerful people are usually not able to commit huge chunks of time. A request of 20 minutes vs. an hour would be more manageable for them.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE...
